We really, really love this tin. Full disclaimer, we might've been a bit snobby when we heard the well-meaning coat company was now in the tinned fish game (we were introduced when it was brand new to them, including way different packaging). But then we tried this tin and knew we needed to add them to our collection. This is beautiful white anchovies (prepared like sardines, these are not fillets covered in salt), with slices of olives and preserved lemon. This is like baquarones (lightly preserved anchovies in vinegar, needs refrigeration) second-cousin. A hint of those great flavors, but fully shelf stable and an added richness from the technique and olives.
Patagonia is a clothing company. Yep. I mean we're sure you knew that, but in case you didn't they make and sell expensive, well-made action/adventure clothing. They're also active in environmental concerns and their foray into tinned seafood actually makes sense. Camping. Eating Well. Preserving the Ocean and Culture - tins fit super well into their brand. They've done it right, too. Working with small canneries, very transparent on where their fish come from and they're a Certified B Corp. We may have been snobby about this brand when it first came out, but now we're champions!
