"American Sauce" is probably not what you're thinking. It's a common sauce used in Spain derived from the French. It's a shellfish-tomato based sauce and is perfect for things like squid! Tender pieces of squid are preserved in this sauce. You can eat it directly from the tin, but this makes such a great pasta sauce we recommend cooking some pasta or rice, and pouring the tin in the noods (or rice).
